Teri Matters

Teri Matters didn’t start to ‘really’ run until she was 52 years old. “I started to run to lose weight many years ago, I kept running on and off but not steadily. Then I started competing in races and it got in my blood! I’m a big competitor...mostly with myself!”

This will be Teri’s 5th year running the Casey Cares 5K. She’s been with us half the time the 5K has been in existence!

“I think Casey Cares is an excellent organization. What they do to help sick children and their families is wonderful from sending them to sporting events to having fun parties for them. Just trying to give them some normalcy.”

None of these programs would be possible without the support from people like Teri.  The 5K is one of our biggest fundraisers and we are so appreciative of our runners support!

Last year, Teri’s competitive spirit paid off – she won her age group!  She says she loves to enjoy nature while she runs, and this year she’ll be enjoying beautiful waterfront views at Port Covington!
