What 97 pounds of PJs looks like

Posted: Dec 9, 2016

Ever since we posted on Facebook about how low our supply of pajamas has been, we have been receiving lots of phone calls and messages about how people can help out our kids.

There are many ways YOU can help!

You can drop off a new pair of pajamas at a local event. If you bring a new pair of PJs to The Lyric's box office for Disney Live! Dec. 9 or Dec. 10, you will receive a free child's ticket. The Baltimore Blast is running a pajama drive Dec. 10 for its home game at the Royal Farms Arena. Local businesses are pitching in, too: PANDORA at The Gallery at Harborplace in downtown Baltimore has a pajama donation box so you can donate PJs while you shop for the holidays; Charm City Karate and The Salon in Mays Chapel, both in Timonium, Maryland, are running a pajama drives, and the Jewish Community Centers in Park Heights and Owings Mills are also collecting pajamas.

You could also follow the lead of our friend Tammy Chapman. She lives in New Jersey and saw our Facebook post and decided to get into action. Her dear friend's son, Grant, has cancer and is in our programs, and was comforted by our pajamas and other actitvities so Tammy decided to help other children at Casey Cares, too. Tammy and her sister, Tara Chapman-Barriera, her boyfriend, Thomas Mullen, her co-workers at Veltri Realtors and friends have collected nearly 200 new pairs of pajamas for us! We were so overwhelmed when not one, but two, huge boxes of PJs (97 pounds of them, to be exact) arrived at our office!

It's easy to get a pajama drive going! Your office, organization, neighbors and friends can get involved and make a big impact for kids who need it most! Find out about our Holiday Giving Program and our pajama drives. We can provide you with flyers to help you promote your pajama drive and can give you all the details about our pajama program as well! Hospitals have been calling us daily for new pairs of pajamas, and we want to be able to fill all of our orders.
