Casey Cares Teen Who Tackled Cancer Supported By Baltimore Ravens

Posted: Apr 27, 2017

T.J. is an eighth-grader and a passionate Baltimore Ravens fan who had his spirits lifted by the Casey Cares Foundation shortly after being diagnosed with a rare brain tumor and throughout his rigorous medical treatment. He is now in remission, and the Ravens continue to support him and his family.

Over the past couple of years, Casey Cares has provided T.J. and his family with special outings to the National Aquarium and the Maryland Zoo, as well as any Ravens-related opportunities we could find! T.J., his mom, dad and little brother, Chidi, had a chance to spend time with coaches and players from the Baltimore Ravens at training camp, and they were able to go see the Ravens play in M&T Bank Stadium.

Casey Cares worked with T.J.'s school, McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland, to coordinate a special PJs for T.J. campaign and collected a whopping 746 new pairs of pajamas! These pajamas will be given to other critically ill children as a small way to provide comfort to kids battling cancer, sickle cell disease, heart abnormalities and other critical illnesses. T.J., who was treated at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and his family hope to make a special hospital delivery of some pajamas soon.

Here are some articles about all the support T.J. has received!

WBAL (NBC affiliate) in Baltimore posted this story about the pajama drive for T.J. at McDonogh School.

The Associated Press published this story about how the Ravens' teaming up with T.J. at the NFL Draft in Philadelphia.

T.J. and his family were honored guests at our Gala last month and the Baltimore Ravens received our Champion of Children Award at our Gala. Here is the video we shared with 400+ guests about T.J.'s journey.
