It was a great day on the greens for Casey Cares’ 19th Annual Golf Tournament!
Thank you to donors, sponsors, and attendees who came out and played a round of golf hosted by the Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, MD on October 17th! We are so grateful to have raised over $65,000 which directly impacts the lives of our children and families!
The outing included a light lunch provided by Mission BBQ, food tastings from The Food Market/Hoopla Catering, Sagamore Spirit, Margarita Man, and Mother Shuckers P.N.B Seafood, raffles, prizes, and a chance for golfers to see if they could beat a pro golfer from BackSwing Golf Events.
With 20 teams present, we wanted to congratulate the winners:

We were honored to have Casey Cares mother, Summer, talk before the golfers got into their carts about her child Aryn, who was born about a year ago and has a heart defect. She said that Aryn spent his first 99 days of life in the hospital and received his first open heart surgery.
Summer continued, “the trips to and from the hospital for 99 days soon become very taxing to a family unit but Casey Cares came through with some fun! Most of our Casey Cares activities haven’t included the baby due to health risks but this weekend, we finally got to take him out to a farm in VA where he slept through his first pig race.”
“Having a kid with medical challenges is well… challenging,” she stated, “Mine has ten doctors, various therapists, takes nine medications a day, and isn’t here today because he’s getting yet another MRI. All of these extra things take time and money which translates into time away from your other kids and reduction in funds to do fun things together as a family.”
Summer concluded, “Casey Cares provides the support that lets our family do fun things together. We get to experience awesome things like the zoo, aquarium, concerts, the circus, and more and that’s because of donors. It’s because you offer support that families and kids get to share moments of fun when they can forget for a moment about the stress that they are facing.”
