Runner Carson Wildrick, of Glenelg, said he was very happy to participate in the Casey Cares/Orioles 5K last year. He liked knowing that the money raised helps fund more activities for deserving families and children.

“What Casey Cares does throughout the year to help families with critically ill children is truly amazing,” Wildrick wrote in an email.

Wildrick said he’s always been active in sports but he started running four years ago when he joined his high school’s Cross Country team.

“It quickly became my favorite sport!” he wrote. “The best part of running is the freedom to do it anywhere I happen to be - at school, on vacation or at home. It’s also a great stress reducer before finals!”

This year’s Casey Cares/Orioles 5K is Saturday, July 14th. You must register by June 30th to receive a race shirt! Register here!
