The Casey Cares 23rd Annual Old Hollywood Gala was a glamourous night celebrating all of Casey Cares amazing programs and activities for critically ill children!
Beginning with a sparkling cocktail hour that included amazing food, drinks, a champagne wall, and live jazz music, guests immediately felt the glitz of Old Hollywood! They even got to take pictures with Marilyn Monroe and pose with lady whose red dress doubled as a red carpet!
The fun was emceed by the fantastic Weather Channel meteorologist and longtime Casey Cares supporter Lynette Charles and newcomer Linh Bui, an anchor at WJZ.
Guests bid on amazing live and silent auction items - destination trips to Ireland, Bruce Springsteen tickets, VIP tickets to a Washington Capitals game, a weekend on the town in Hollwood and more!
In addition, we showed a video highlighting one of our Casey Cares families. Maverick is 2 years old and diagnosed with Down Syndrome and a form of blood cancer. The video, created by a wonderful team at Early Light Media and sponsored by the Bostwick Family, illustrated the journey Maverick, his brother, Logan, and parents Brad and Maddie, have gone through and how much Casey Cares has supported all of them throughout his cancer treatment. Casey Cares founder and executive director Casey Baynes, presented our annual Champion of Children Awards to MaryAnn Hanson from Feld Entertainment. As the recipient of our Champion of Children Award, Feld Entertainment has provided moments of respite through their live shows. For almost two decades, they have gifted tickets at 42 different venues to our families!
