For eight years running, Casey Cares has been able to send families with critically ill children to Florida for magical vacations with trips to Disney World and other Sunshine State amusement parks, and this year was no different. Even though Hurricane Irma did its best to prevent our vacations from happening, we were able to prevail and provide our families with a trip of a lifetime.
Taylor, who is 5, and has spina bifida, and Alexandra, who is 14 and has been battling leukemia, boarded their flights with their families at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., amidst a lot of fun and fanfare. Our kids were greeted by a cast of princesses and received VIP treatment from volunteers and staff membes at the airport and from our partners at the Something mAAgic Foundation, Inc.®, which organizes annual trips to Orlando, Florida, for kids with life-threatening diseases. While these families are in Orlando, they stay at Give Kids the World, a special resort for critically ill children.
Casey Cares is so grateful for the continued support from our friends at Something mAAgic and Give Kids The World for making these very special moments so memorable for families in our programs who truly need a respite from doctors' appointments and hospital visits. What a great way for our families to enjoy time together! Thank you!
