Katie Brookes started running everywhere from a young age. “As a kid, I was running with neighborhood friends from morning until the street lights came on! I remember at recess in elementary school, we had to do one lap around the baseball field before we got to play and I kept running all of recess!” Katie says her friends still laugh about it to this day!
So it’s natural she would be a part of the Casey Cares 5K. “I knew it was a great cause, and as I’m getting older, I’m learning to run for those who can’t and learning not to take advantage of being able to get up and run each day.”
Katie is signed up and looking forward to our 10th annual 5K. It is August 3rd at beautiful waterfront Port Covington.
We look forward to seeing Katie and all of her Falls Road running buddies at the race! “The best part of running is simple. It’s something no one can take away from me, the love for it, the dedication and passion each day. It’s my livelihood”.
Thanks Katie for putting your passion to good use by raising money to help critically ill kids. Without that kind of dedication, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do for our kiddo’s and their families!
You can help, just like Katie! Click here to register for the Casey Cares 5K before our t-shirt deadline on July 20th!
