Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, Ariel, oh my! Thanks to Nina with Dream Parties, critically ill children in Ohio and Maryland got the chance to dress up in their best royal attire for a Princess Party!
At first glance, Gracyn, at age 15, may seem a bit old for a princess party.
However, after a phone call from Casey Cares, she decided to attend and bring her foster sisters to the Royal Princess Ball! Gracyn's sisters met with Belle and Moana, whom they dressed up as!
"Watching her dote on them is such a gift," says mom Cara.
Even Gracyn's service dog got in on the princess dress action with her outfit and crown!
Gracie, as she is known to her family, is diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, where her body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy brain cells.
Gracyn is no stranger to dressing up in cool costumes for her sisters. "Last year Gracie dressed up as a mermaid when we went to Great Wolf and the girls LOVED it!" she continues.
Out in Ohio, Casey Cares kiddo Caroline had a magical time at the Princess Ball! Dressed as Princess Anna, Caroline got to meet the princess from Frozen herself! They could be twins!
Mom Megan states, "Caroline had the most amazing time & felt so special. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity!" Caroline is diagnosed with Vein of Galen malformation, which is when a vein at the base of the brain dilates, causing too much blood to rush to the heart.
Speaking of sisters and Princess Anna, Evelyn, who has neuroblastoma, got to spend the day as Princess Anna from Frozen (and with her too!) at the Royal Princess Ball!
There's nothing stopping this 3 year old princess!
Mom Lindsay says, "Evelyn was very excited to meet Anna and is showing her nail polish. Her older sister Ellie attended as Elsa. We are very grateful for the experience! Thank you!"
Thank you Dream Parties for helping us make our critically ill kids feel special in the greatest way possible!
Opportunities like this that Casey Cares and its donors provide, create positive, lasting memories for a sick child and their siblings. Not only do activities like this break up the routine of treatment, it also enhances a child's emotional and social development.
