Ono Okojie

Casey Cares volunteer Ono Okojie, is returning for her second 5K this year!

Ono has a host or reasons for why she began running, firstly because it "gives me something fun to look forward to!! Additionally, it’s helped me set goals & I feel accomplished after every race! Actually, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to run or walk one 5K per month. Also, I’ve always enjoyed working out but I had to scale back my workout intensity. Thus, walking has been a great low impact activity that I can do to stay healthy!"

For her, the best part of running or walking is "being able to spend quality time with people! Additionally, being outside and in nature is very therapeutic for me!"

Ono knows to always be prepared when it comes to running or walking!

"I can’t run or walk without my fanny pack, my favorite pump up music, snacks, and of course lots of water."

Last year was Ono's first 5K with Casey Cares and "it was such a memorable event!" she states.

"I decided to participate this year because Casey Cares is a great organization that truly feels like family! Also, it’s so empowering to see the community come together in support of a great cause!"

Ono concludes that she is "super excited and can’t wait for August 5th! For the kids!"
