Casey Cares kid Joshua had an exciting evening at Oriole Park at Camden Yards!
Thanks to Casey Cares and the Baltimore Orioles, Joshua threw the ceremonial first pitch at a recent Baltimore Orioles baseball game! He was born with a congenital heart defect and is being treated at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Children's Center. Joshua has completed over 100 activities and programs with the Casey Foundation since joining in 2015.
When Joshua heard he was going to throw the first ball, Joshua’s mother, Tiffany, states “Joshua was so excited about being able to throw the first pitch it has always been a dream of his. He was so thankful. Joshua wanted to cry [when he] heard his name and the fans cheering for him.”
She continues, saying that he has been an Orioles fan for the “past 4 years” and that another amazing part of the experience was “seeing the excitement on Joshua’s face as we were watching the game. He was really enjoying the game and trying to catch every foul ball that looked like it was coming our way.”
Tiffany remarks that the best part about Casey Cares is “that great, wonderful, and exciting things are provided for disabled kids and their family members that we may not be able to do on our own and it is a great feeling to spend time with family.”
She ends, “Thank you Casey Cares and the Baltimore Orioles for allowing Joshua’s dream come true.”
Thank you to all supporters and donors of Casey Cares who help lift the spirits of our critically ill children! These little moments give way to lasting memories and huge smiles for our kids and their families!
