Meet Genny Rossi, Casey Cares supporter since 2009 and captain of Casey Cares 5K Team Peak!

Genny began her running journey "because of a challenge from Weight Watchers to complete a 5K on June 6, 2010, emphasizing the importance of physical activity."

Initially, Genny "liked the physical challenge of running itself" but then realized "there’s also a tremendous mental benefit as well."

Part of the benefits also extends to Genny loving running because she gets to be "outdoors and taking in nature."

Plus, Genny cannot run without "tennis shoes with good support!"

It is rather easy for Genny to name her reason for running in the 5K.

"Just read any of the letters written by a parent with a critically ill child whose family was touched by the various programs and try not to be compelled to support Casey Cares!" she states.

"And getting a team together for the 5K is a great way to gather support from friends and relatives and they all latch onto the cause wholeheartedly and are willing and generous to participate or donate year after year.  Plus, all ages can do this together, our team’s ages have ranged from under 10 to over 70!" Genny adds.

The runner continues, "We have a group that does the virtual walk together at the Trolley Trail on the week before and a group that attends in person for the Zoo event. So easy, so flexible and so rewarding. Anyone is welcome to join Team Peak!"
