Julie, her husband Ira, and her sons are no strangers to Casey Cares, having been supporters of its mission since 2014 and have all participated in Casey Cares 5K, beginning with their first one in 2019.
The mom and marketing executive first began running as a way to add variety into her fitness plan and finds that the best part of running is the fact that it clear her mind.
"It’s a mental detox for me," she says.
When it comes to the one thing Julie cannot run without, she wisely finds that "shadow chasing me or pacing me" is a no-brainer!
Casey Cares likes to say “Every Runner Has A Reason," and out of this, Julie's personal reason for running was formed from "a mix of personal motivation and a desire to give back."
She expresses that she "laced up my running shoes and joined this incredible community of supporters."
"It was an experience that touched my heart because supporting Casey Cares meant that I was helping to create happy memories for families with critically ill children. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?!?" Julie concludes.
