On May 22nd, the Casey Cares community came together at The Woodlands Golf Course for the Tee It Up Golf Tournament—and not even the rain could dampen our spirits! Despite the drizzle, teams hit the greens with big hearts and even bigger smiles, all in support of programs for critically ill children.
We are thrilled to share that the tournament raised nearly $30,000 to support our ongoing efforts to provide uplifting activities and moments of joy to families facing medical hardship.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Matt Derby of Derby Real Estate, along with Mike Griesser of White Oak Home Group and Steve Pipich of VYBE, for generously organizing this impactful event. We’re so grateful they took time from their busy schedules to rally support for our mission.
The event featured moving stories from two courageous moms—Maria, whose 11-year-old daughter Ariel battles Sickle Cell Disease, and Terry, whose 2-year-old daughter Dream continues to face health challenges stemming from her premature birth. Their words were a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
To every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer—thank you for making the day a success. Your support means the world to our families. See you on the green next year!
At Casey Cares Foundation, we believe that acts of service not only strengthen our communities—but also bring people closer together. This week, we were honored to partner with both corporate and youth groups who gave their time and heart to support critically ill children and their families.
At M&T Bank’s Baltimore office, about 30 employees from the Retail Education Department participated in a Casey Cares team-building event. The group rolled cozy pajamas, which will be donated to children facing medical hardships, helping to provide warmth, comfort, and joy during tough times. These hands-on activities do more than give back—they bring teams together in a shared mission of compassion. Companies interested in meaningful team-building experiences can sponsor similar volunteer opportunities through Casey Cares.
We also took part in the final celebration of the Baltimore Ravens and T. Rowe Price High School Leadership Institute, a yearlong program designed to empower student leaders from Baltimore City and County. Around 100 students marked the end of their leadership journey with two impactful service projects: rolling pajamas with Casey Cares and assembling food bags for the Baltimore Hunger Project. Every student participated in both activities, reinforcing the value of giving back as a pillar of leadership.
From boardrooms to classrooms, this week showed how teamwork and service can make a real difference. If your company, school, or group is looking for a meaningful way to give back, we invite you to connect with us and learn more about our team-building sponsorship opportunities.

The energy was high and the competition friendly at our Maryland Pickleball Tournament this past Friday, where 75 people gathered together for a cause far greater than the game. Thanks to our amazing supporters, we raised $30,000—enough to provide 750 movie and pizza nights, 750 grocery gift cards, or 2,000 pairs of pajamas to families with critically ill children in our programs.
Held at The Putaway, the tournament was made possible by our dedicated event chairs—Barry Herman, Ben Salsbury, and Lance Scott—whose leadership and commitment brought the event to life. A special thanks to Tim at The Putaway for not only providing a top-tier facility but also going above and beyond to support every detail of the day.
Players were treated to delicious food from The Social and Main & Market, who generously fed our teams and volunteers throughout the event.
The highlight of the day was seeing the joy on the faces of two Casey Cares families in attendance. We were honored to host Jathan Ford, a 9-year-old boy battling acute lymphocytic leukemia and type 1 diabetes, and Ruben Collins, a 6-year-old boy with a genetic disorder and epilepsy. Their presence reminded everyone of why we rally—on and off the court—for the children who face life-threatening illnesses with unimaginable strength.
We are deeply grateful to our Presenting Sponsor, CareFirst, for their continued support and partnership. Thank you as well to all of our generous sponsors for making this day a success:
This past Tuesday, more than 200 guests filled the room for our Runway of Resilience Fashion Show — a powerful evening filled with style, inspiration, and compassion in support of Casey Cares Foundation’s programs for critically ill children.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, supporters, and attendees, the event raised over $56,000! That means that this event raised enough to fund 1,400 movie and pizza nights or grocery gift cards — or provide over 3,700 pairs of cozy pajamas for critically ill children and their families!
A heartfelt thank you to our presenting sponsor, Elite Medical Spa, and to Boutique by Glitz for not only outfitting our runway, but continuing to support our mission through their Glitz Gives Back initiative — now throughMay 11, 15% of proceeds from Glitz purchases will be donated back to Casey Cares and our programs!
A huge round of applause goes to our incredible Runway of Resilience Committee, led by Margaret White (Chair), along with Kristine Scott, Krista Sprungman, Regina Beatty, Mary Thompson, Cathy Smith, MaryAnn Hanson, Jill Hamilton, Joshua Englin, and Marti Wolszczak. Your dedication and hard work brought this vision to life.
Most importantly, we were honored to welcome Yulisa, a Casey Cares child living with cystic fibrosis, who joined us with her family as our special guest. Her presence reminded everyone in the room of the strength, resilience, and joy that inspires everything we do.
Thank you to everyone who made this night unforgettable. Together, we are making a difference — one child, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
At Casey Cares Foundation, every child who becomes a part of our family leaves a lasting impression. One child we remember is Kamryn Lambert, otherwise known as Kami. Though her time with us was far too short, her bright spirit continues to inspire acts of kindness and comfort through a special initiative close to our hearts—Kami’s Jammies.
Kamryn was born on October 10, 1998, and faced more challenges in her young life than most ever will. Diagnosed with leukemia, she spent much of her childhood bravely battling her illness at University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. Despite her diagnosis, Kamryn never let go of her smile, energy, and joy.
Through Casey Cares, Kamryn experienced joyful escapes from her treatments and hospital stays. She cheered on the Terps at a University of Maryland football game, reveled in the excitement of a Terps basketball game, and felt the thrill of live action at the Nuclear Cowboyz show. This is just a handful of the memories we got to provide her and her family.
Kamryn passed away on September 5, 2007, just a month shy of her ninth birthday. Her absence is deeply felt, but her legacy lives on in a powerful and meaningful way.
Kami’s Jammies was created in her honor—a heartfelt pajama drive that provides cozy sleepwear to critically ill children in hospitals and treatment centers. Kamryn loved wearing fun pajamas during her hospital stays because they made her feel a sense of joy and normalcy. Now, every pair of pajamas collected through Kami’s Jammies carries her spirit forward, wrapping another child in warmth and love.
Each April, we renew this mission with passion, knowing that Kami’s memory is not only preserved but actively lifting up others who are facing their own battles.
We invite you to join us in honoring Kamryn’s life and legacy. Help us continue to bring comfort, smiles, and a little bit of magic to children in our programs—one pair of pajamas at a time.
At Casey Cares Foundation, we believe that even the simplest acts of kindness can bring enormous comfort to critically ill children. As #NationalWearYourPajamasToWorkDay approaches, we’re inviting you to do just that—wear your pajamas proudly and help support our Biggest PJ Party yet.
For children battling cancer, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, and other life-threatening illnesses, hospital stays and treatment days often feel endless. But something as small as a cozy new pair of pajamas can bring a smile, warmth, and a sense of normalcy to these brave young patients. Our PJ Drive is all about collecting those little comforts—soft, colorful pajamas that let kids feel like kids, even in the most difficult of times.
This month, we’ve seen an overwhelming outpouring of support from schools, companies, and community groups across the region. Piles of pajamas have been donated in memory of loved ones, in celebration of healing, and simply as a way to give back. Each pair represents love, hope, and solidarity with families going through the unimaginable.
Tomorrow, when you put on your pajamas for work, know that you’re doing more than just participating in a fun tradition. You’re standing with Casey Cares and the hundreds of children we serve each year. You’re sending a message that comfort and care matter—and that no child has to face their illness alone.
There’s still time to get involved! You can drop off new pajamas at one of our partner locations, shop directly from our Amazon Wishlist to have them shipped straight to us, or make a Monetary Donation and we will get the PJs for you! Every pair counts.
Let’s make this the coziest PJ Day ever. Thank you for helping us wrap our kids in love—one pair of pajamas at a time.
This past Saturday was nothing short of amazing! The courts were buzzing with energy as tennis lovers from across the area came together not just to compete, but to give back. The West Palm Tennis Tournament brought out fierce rallies, plenty of smiles, and a whole lot of heart — all to support the critically ill kids in the Casey Cares Foundation. With fun flight names inspired by tennis greats and a true sense of community spirit, players brought their best game and their biggest hearts.

Heart of the Tournament – Ryder’s Story
Among all the amazing energy on the courts, one incredible child from the Casey Cares program reminded us exactly why this day mattered. Ryder Hinds, a bright and resilient 9-year-old, was the heart of the event. Diagnosed with Short Bowel Syndrome at birth on December 9, 2015, Ryder’s journey has included countless challenges and courageous moments. Despite his diagnosis, Ryder continues to enjoy special Casey Cares experiences, including recent trips to a Miami Marlins game, Disney On Ice, and a Ft. Myers Mighty Mussels game.
Meeting Ryder in person brought an unforgettable reminder to our participants of the impact their support has on the lives of families facing medical hardships.
Cheers to Our Champions – On and Off the Court
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible event leaders. A heartfelt thank-you goes to our Event Chairs Kristina Bostwick and Jarrett Bostwick for their leadership and vision.
We also want to recognize our amazing committee members: Amy Roberts, Jessica Moisdon, Nora Conlin, Missy Lee, and Diana Drayton — thank you for all of your hard work and heart!
And of course, we extend our deepest gratitude to all of the volunteers who made the day run so smoothly.
We are so thankful for the unwavering support from our sponsors and partners, who truly believe in our mission and the joy we aim to bring to children battling critical illnesses.
This April, the Casey Cares Foundation is turning something simple—pajamas—into a powerful symbol of comfort, compassion, and care with the return of its beloved annual event: The Biggest PJ Party.
Throughout the month, individuals, schools, workplaces, and entire communities are invited to join in the mission to collect 25,000 new pairs of pajamas for children who are bravely battling life-threatening illnesses. Whether they’re homebound or undergoing hospital treatment, these children often face long, uncertain days filled with appointments, treatments, and time away from friends and the comforts of home.
Casey Cares believes in making those days just a little bit brighter.
Inspired by One Child’s Legacy
The PJ drive is part of Casey Cares’ Kami’s Jammies program, a heartfelt initiative that honors the memory of Kamryn, a spirited Casey Cares child whose face would light up each time she received a fresh pair of cozy pajamas during her hospital stays. What began as a simple act of kindness has now grown into a legacy—more than 183,000 pairs of pajamas have been donated in Kamryn’s name, bringing smiles, warmth, and comfort to children all across the country.
