9th Annual Rockfish Tournament Reels in Funds for Families
Last Friday, anglers, sponsors, and supporters came together for the 9th Annual Casey Cares Rockfish Tournament, raising more than $134,000 to benefit critically ill children and their families. The annual event brought the community together for a memorable day on the water while helping Casey Cares continue providing uplifting programs and meaningful experiences for the families we serve.
Throughout the day, fishing teams competed to reel in the longest rockfish, while participants in the Captain’s Challenge worked to raise additional funds in support of the Casey Cares mission.
Congratulations to Ryan Webb and Delmarva Site Development, who earned first place in this year’s Captain’s Challenge, and Richard Hoenes, who finished in second place. In the fishing competition, Steve Widner’s team took first place for the longest rockfish of the day, followed by Bill Barroll’s team in second place.
The tournament would not have been possible without the incredible support of the sponsors, anglers, volunteers, and friends of Casey Cares who helped make the day such a success. A special thank-you goes to this year’s top sponsors:
- Boat Lifts Unlimited
- BZB Design & Build
- Corporate Office Properties Trust
- True North Remodeling
Casey Cares would also like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Tournament Chair John Sovero and the dedicated tournament committee for their time, hard work, and continued commitment to making this event a success year after year.
Every dollar raised through the Rockfish Tournament helps Casey Cares provide ongoing support and special moments for critically ill children and their families. Thank you to everyone who joined us, placed a bid, sponsored the event, volunteered, or helped spread the word. Your support helps Casey Cares continue creating little moments and lasting memories for the families we serve.
