Holiday Cheer Takes Over the Maryland Science Center
This year’s Casey Cares Holiday Party was truly unforgettable! Families from our programs gathered at the Maryland Science Center for an evening filled with wonder, discovery, and holiday cheer. For children who spend far too much time in hospitals or at home recovering from treatments, this night offered a rare chance to play, explore, and simply be kids.
From the moment our families arrived, the building buzzed with excitement. Thanks to the generosity of the Maryland Science Center, children enjoyed hands-on exhibits, interactive displays, and all the joy that comes from watching science come alive right in front of them.
The night became truly magical when Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special surprise visit just for our Casey Cares kiddos. Children rushed to greet them, share Christmas wishes, and take photos that captured memories we know these families will cherish. For many, meeting Santa was a bright moment in the middle of a challenging season.
Adding to the warmth and festive atmosphere was the beautiful live jazz provided by Tom Reyes and Friends. Their music set the perfect tone for families to relax and enjoy time together, something that can be hard to come by when navigating a child’s critical illness.
We are so grateful to the Maryland Science Center for providing tickets for our families, to Tom Reyes and Friends for filling the evening with music, and to our incredible volunteers, including our wonderful Santa and Mrs. Claus, for making this night happen. Their kindness and dedication ensured that every child felt celebrated and cared for.
Events like this remind us why our mission matters. A single evening of joy, connection, and childhood magic can bring comfort to families who are facing some of their toughest days. Thank you to everyone who supports Casey Cares and helps create moments like these for our families.
