Kelli Pippin
For Kelli, running and walking have long been an important part of caring for both her body and mind. Her journey began 25 years ago, when her first poodle needed an impressive five to seven miles of exercise each day. Those daily outings inspired a lasting love of movement that continues today.
Kelli values the sense of accomplishment and calm she experiences while logging her miles. Running also provides her with quiet time to reflect on her faith.
“I tend to say my prayers or listen to God rock when I run now,” Kelli shared.
While some runners may rely on music, a favorite route or a fitness tracker, Kelli says there is only one essential item she cannot go without: a comfortable pair of sneakers.
For those who are interested in running or walking but are unsure where to begin, Kelli recommends joining a Couch to 5K program. These beginner-friendly programs provide helpful coaching, teach participants how to run safely and offer the opportunity to connect with others who are also just getting started.
Kelli discovered the Casey Cares Foundation through a Google search. After learning more about the organization, she was moved by its work supporting critically ill children and their families.
She chose to participate in the Casey Cares 5K because the foundation’s mission resonated with her. By taking part in the event, Kelli can enjoy an activity that strengthens her physical, mental and spiritual well-being while helping Casey Cares create uplifting experiences and lasting memories for families facing difficult medical journeys.
For Kelli, every mile offers a chance to find peace, celebrate progress and support a mission she finds truly inspiring.
