Remembering Art Jones
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and longtime Casey Cares partner, Arthur “Art” Jones: a man whose heart, smile, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Art wasn’t just known for his years on the football field with the Baltimore Ravens, but he was known for the way he carried himself off the field. To many, he was their favorite player not because of his tackles or stats, but because of his big heart, genuine kindness, and joyful spirit. Art had an incredible way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and his laughter could brighten even the toughest day.
For years, Art dedicated his time and energy to bringing happiness to Casey Cares families, visiting children in hospitals, signing autographs, and sharing encouraging words with families facing unimaginable challenges. During one visit to the Herman and Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai, Art said, “My grandmother and sister both passed away from cancer after a brave fight. If I can instill a little happiness to a child going through it, then it is my honor to help.”
Art became an important part of the Casey Cares family, giving his time generously to brighten the days of critically ill children. Whether visiting a hospital room, signing a football, or simply offering a hug, Art brought hope, comfort, and joy wherever he went.
We are forever grateful for his partnership, friendship, and heart. His legacy will continue to inspire us as we honor his memory through every smile we bring to a child’s face.
Thank you, Art, for the love, laughter, and light you shared with all of us. You will always be a part of the Casey Cares family.
